Do reeinders travel at night?

We took the road from Inari towards the border. Route 971 is covered with ice and snow. During the two hours trip we met nobody, but two reeindeers who had that look in their eyes that makes you feel guilty of something.

Welcome to Arctic tundra

During the last hour, the temperature dropped a great deal. We are now 375m above zero. Crystal bits of snowflakes make it hard to look very far. It's early in the evening but already pitch black outside, what intensifies the feeling of travelling north.

Into the great white open

Greetings to the German fellows from Dresden, Uli and Gerhard, who we actually never met. They left us a greetings note on the windscreen when we were sleeping. Have a pleasant journey to the Nordkapp you two!

Goodnight Santa

We crossed the Arctic Circle and will spend the night where they have Christmas every day.

Parker, we're not in Haparanda anymore

Time is different here.

Stop and go

We are driving behind one of these famous snow saws digging a path next to the road. It is now -4 Degrees.

Foggy fields

The day started sunny and warm but on the way the temperature fell again and mist crawled out of the woods. If you don't hear from us in a while, don't worry, we still have to figure out which network provider to use in Finland for feeding the logbook via our GooglePhone.
