Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum - The Art Museum of Northern Norway

We had a fascinating introduction to the collection of the Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum by the director Knut Ljøgodt. We talked about landscape and the various approaches of artists dealing with this topic over the centuries. Right now they are showing the exhibition »ahead« by contemporary Norwegian artist A K Dolven.

Verdensteatret

This evening we've been to the Verdensteatret, which is the Norways oldest cinema still in use. It is a cinema, culture place and a very nice café. A great place to meet people and home of the Tromsø Filmklubb, the Cinemathek and the Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF). Today there was the screening of Matthew Barney »Drawing Restraint 9«, with an introduction by Nicolas Woche, an artist from Berlin now based in Tromsø.

Tromsø Kunstforening

We met Svein Ingvoll Pedersen, intendant / director of the Tromsø Kunstforening to introduce our work and the project. The photo was taken in front of the freshly built snow sculptures next to the Kunstforening building.

Beer with Biosphere

Meeting and listening to the stories of Geir Jenssen aka Biosphere is as exciting as listening to his music. Topics ranged from high school bands over camping in 8000m height to the inability to do a sound recording in the woods during winter without any Snow Scooter noises. Thanks for this most enjoyable evening. On March 26 his concert piece »Shhoctavoski« performed by the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra has world premiere during the Borealis Festival in Bergen.

Fluffy clouds

Huge cloud formations are floating over the mountains. The gigantic seagulls are flying low and fast.

Postcard from Tromsø

Today it's hard to take a photo that does not look like a postcard.
