married a local girl and got kids. He is maybe the archetyp of people

it. After the show, we had the chance to talk about all different
kinds of things. What you don't see in the picture is, that he is

next building. Finest sheep wool quality, most likely.

talking to easily rises high. For several reasons. The salmons in the farms
are not as healthy as the wild ones, due to their living and feeding
conditions. They spend their life in huge nets, from which they sometimes
escape if they prefer a nice fjord or river instead. They mix and of course
mate with the wild salmon and this way can transfer diseases and viruses to
them and to next generations. There is one particular deadly (for the fish)
virus already spreading, which if the worst comes to worst, might become a
reason for a forced erasure of all life (not only the salmon) in a river to
"restart" it afterwards by putting out already stored healthy salmon eggs.
Ten years is the estimated time for such a procedure. Along the huge
Norwegian salmon rivers, there are hundreds of peoples existences depending
on the wild salmons, in one or the other way. The currently appointed
Fisheries Minister of Norway is co-owner of a salmon farming company.

topic of the evening, because Kjetil and Michael have both attended the
meeting. The Australian company who recently bought and reopened the iron
ore mines in Kirkenes is using a special chemical to separate the ore from
the crushed rocks. The residues of this process, which means rock and
poisonous chemical (Lilaflot D817M) are poured directly into the Bøkfjorden,
one of Norways national and the easternmost salmon fjord. In 2009, the
company applied to raise the amount of Lilaflot used to 500 tons a year.
We've been told that when pupils of the local school drew a banner to
protest against Lilaflot and hung it to the school, they were forced to take
it off by a city official.

We already wrote about the photos
we took from our equipment and the Russian descriptions Luba wrote for it.
Shortly after arriving at the Russian customs, Luba noticed, that the
officers at the Norwegian customs accidentally took both copies of these
papers, when we passed there a few minutes ago. Although the Norwegian
building lies only a few hundred meters away, you are not allowed to go or
drive back there. Luba called at the Norwegian side and asked, what to do.
Neither the Russian nor the Norwegian officers were allowed to go to the
other border post to get or deliver the documents, but the Norwegians
offered us to give our documents to the next driver that will cross their
post in our direction, which finally happened over one hour later. Luba
handed in the long awaited documents, a moment later an officer came out and
wanted us to follow him to the van, in his hand, a small digital camera.
What for, you might ask, and so did we. He was not open for discussion and
although he already got the approved and signed photos and documents, he
wanted to do it by himself, and he took his time, while we had to unpack and
present our equipment.
