Speed

On our way the windspeed starts to increase a large amount, so it's like driving a big box through a storm on an icy ground. We're encountering a car lying next to the road with its trailer upside down. Luckily nobody got hurt and the recovery service is already on the way. We're continuing our way very slow and careful.

Our favorite spot

This is one of our favorite spots to stop and to take photos of the landscape that always presents itself in multitudinous layers towards the horizon.

Thanks for feeding our mosquitos

On the receipt of the Karasjok Camping is a little quote on the bottom: Thanks for feeding our mosquitos! Yeah, maybe next time. After recovering a little bit, we are leaving the city in the direction of Lakselv. Here we are passing the entrance to the Sápmi Park, the theme park that presents Sámi culture and traditions.

Pine trees

The view in the direction of Karasjok. From this point on, pine trees are growing again, to form a unique forest that surrounds the city. The pine forest along the upper parts of the Tana River, Karasjok River and Anárjohka River are connected to the great Finnish forest plains, while the pine forest in the Pasvik Valley is connected to the Russian taiga.

Little birch

We are passing by a church nearby ?uoššjávri with this almost too perfect little birch.

By the way

Does this look real to you?

Painted

On the other side of the river Guovdageaineatnu you see the mountains of Vuordnáš with a height of 588 meter. This time of the day, the landscape is like a watercolor painting wherever you look.

Rabbit on the run

To unriddle Parkers vision from some days ago: while keeping up with the concerts, Parker tried to suppress his cold for some days now. But now that we are leaving Kautokeino he feels really ill. The new plan is to rest the weekend in Karasjok and to continue to Stabbursdalen on Sunday.

Ánte Siri

Ánte Siri is the Executive Information Officer of the Sámi University College and helped us organizing the performance and preparing the room. He also did the guided tour. Many thanks!
